The CPAP Alternative
We can treat sleep apnea in several ways including behavioral changes such as losing weight or changing sleep positions, masks, oral appliances, or surgery. The most common method for treating sleep apnea is with a continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) machine that utilizes a mask worn at night. However, Dr. Richard Assing and Dr. Brenton Assing offer the comfortable CPAP alternative of oral appliances. These are worn at night much like a retainer or mouth guard, and they prevent the tongue and other soft tissue from collapsing and blocking your airway.
